I really enjoyed this book. As I have mentioned recently that these days with lots of other reading for the kids schooling, I am only reading fiction for personal reading. This book kept my attention with it's interesting storyline. The premise is a young woman with a mysterious past, who has been raised in the palace of Monaco. She is not the offspring of the prince, so whose daughter is she? The book is set in 1911 and is very close to the time period of the first season of Downton Abbey. Most of the story takes place in England among the aristocracy. In the authors note at the end of the book she talks of how she wrote the first draft of this book when she was 13. My own thirteen year old, who is a voracious reader, began this book on Saturday and finished it on Monday. She LOVED it. She would come and talk to me about it as she got to particular portions of the story. I love that! There is a bit of the upstairs/below stairs in this book, and that adds interest to the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who was looking for an interesting book, with mystery and intrigue. It also leaves the end of the story in a place where the author could choose to carry the story forward with a different main character. But that is all I'll say about that! The publisher Bethany House provided me with the book in exchange for this review. All the opinions are my own, and my daughters as well!
